The door is not locked properly.

What does E16 mean?

A full load or trapped items may prevent latching.

What to check first

  1. Open and close the door again and press the start/reload (play/pause) button;
  2. remove some clothing items if needed and push the door closed;
  3. alternatively switch the machine off and on, set the programme and start again.
