E22 Bosch Dishwasher Error Code

Inspect first

What does E22 mean?

Can be caused by a blocked dishwasher filter, a blocked drain pump or loose drain pump cover, a kinked or sharply bent drain pump hose, or a clogged airgap/drain hose.

Common causes

The manufacturer support page points to these conditions for this code:

  • A blocked or dirty filter
  • A kinked, bent, or pinched hose
  • A blocked, kinked, or incorrectly installed drain hose or standpipe
  • Debris or a blockage in the water path

What to check first

  1. Clean the dishwasher filter;
  2. check the drain pump hose and drain hose for kinks or sharp bends;
  3. check the airgap and drain hose for clogs;
  4. power-cycle the appliance.

Safety

  • Unplug the appliance before opening the filter, pump cover, or drain area, and expect water to come out.

When to call a professional

If the error remains after cleaning the filter and checking hoses/airgap.
