Long drain: drain pump system problem.

What does LD mean?

The washer is taking too long to drain water.

Common causes

The manufacturer support page points to these conditions for this code:

  • A blocked, kinked, or incorrectly installed drain hose or standpipe
  • Debris or a blockage in the water path
  • A pump or motor that is not turning freely

What to check first

  1. Check that the drain hose does not extend more than 4.5” (114 mm) into the standpipe and is not clogged.

Safety

  • Unplug the appliance before draining water, and keep the water away from the power supply.
