What does E3 mean?

An issue with the operation of the drain motor; it may also occur if water inside the washer froze due to cold weather.

Common causes

The manufacturer support page points to these conditions for this code:

A frozen water line, hose, or drain
A pump or motor that is not turning freely

What to check first

Unplug the power cord, reconnect it and retry;
if caused by freezing, thaw the tub and drain hose with warm water (50-60C) and run a spin cycle to drain.

When to call a professional

If E3 recurs after resetting, or is unrelated to freezing, the drain motor may require inspection - request service.
