OE LG Washer Error Code

DIY

What does OE mean?

The washing machine is unable to drain the wash water. It is usually caused by a kinked or clogged drain hose or a clogged drain pump filter.

Common causes

The manufacturer support page points to these conditions for this code:

  • A blocked or dirty filter
  • A kinked, bent, or pinched hose
  • A blocked, kinked, or incorrectly installed drain hose or standpipe
  • Debris or a blockage in the water path

What to check first

  1. Check behind the washer that the drain hose is not kinked or clogged and straighten/clear it;
  2. run a spin-only cycle to test the drain pump;
  3. clean the drain pump filter;
  4. if suds caused it, run a Tub Clean cycle and reduce the amount of detergent.

Safety

  • Unplug the appliance before opening the filter, pump cover, or drain area, and expect water to come out.

When to call a professional

If the same error code keeps appearing after troubleshooting, unplug the washing machine and contact LG Support.
