5C2 Samsung Dishwasher Error Code

DIY

What does 5C2 mean?

The dishwasher attempts to drain but the pump either fails to start, runs only briefly, or stalls.

Common causes

The manufacturer support page points to these conditions for this code:

  • A blocked or dirty filter
  • Debris or a blockage in the water path
  • A pump or motor that is not turning freely

What to check first

  1. Try to force a drain (for example by cancelling the cycle) and listen;
  2. with the power disconnected, remove the lower rack and the filter and inspect the sump for debris that could jam the impeller.

Safety

  • Unplug the appliance before opening the filter, pump cover, or drain area, and expect water to come out.

When to call a professional

If the code persists after the checks above, contact Samsung service.
